Thank you - Pastor Sauer) Class: The Roman Way! - Romans 1-8 Begins: Sept 2, 2007 This Bible study delves chapter by chapter into St. Paul’s letter to the Roman congregation. This letter pulls no punches about what Christ has done for us and how we live our lives in response! (11 sessions) Class: "Let Us Pray!" Begins: Nov 25, 2007 We are often told to pray, but questions still abound about our conversation with the Lord. For what do we pray? How are we to pray? What good is prayer? Does it help to have more people praying when one is sick? Come and learn the answers to these and many more questions! (3 Sessions) Class: The Prayer Book of the Bible - The Book of Psalms Begins: Jan 6, 2008 The Book of Psalms, is one of the greatest collections of prayers. They express the deepest passions of humanity. In their pages, we can hear the psalmist's desperate cry, but also his emphatic praise for his Provider and Comforter. We can hear him pouring out his soul in confession, but also bubbling over with joy! The Psalms lead us through the valleys and peaks of human experiences; but, in the end, they guide us to the praise of our loving Creator! In this class we will look at various psalms which are prayers from the heart to God. (9 sessions) Class: Sing God's Truth! Jan 20, Feb 24, March 30 - 2008 In this study we will look at the stories behind some best loved and well known hymns. We will also have a sing-fest with class members choosing which hymns to sing. Class: The Parables of Jesus Begins: April 20, 2008 continuing through the Summer In this Summer series, the class will look at the many parables of Jesus, learn their meaning and apply them to daily life. This study is for all ages - young and not-so-young. Come join us! Bible Study for Children: Sept. 2, 2007—March 16, 2008 Abiding Savior Lutheran Church offers Bible Classes for children ages 4- 12. Classes are held every Sunday at 9:00AM (Sept-Nov) or at 9:15AM (Dec-March). A Bible lesson is taught, discussed and applied to the faith and life of the child. Craft projects and activity sheets are used to further intensify and apply the Bible lesson. Children may be enrolled by calling the church office at 968-5228 or by email—pastorsauer@abswels.net Wednesday Evening Bible Study - 2007-08 Class: Verse & Book Time: Oct. 3 through Nov. 14, 2007 Jan. 9 through Jan. 30, 2008 Do you find yourself running around from one appointment to the next? Do you wish to know more about the Bible? Do you want to make the study of the Bible a part of your daily life? Then Verse & Book is for you! 1—Verse is the time we join together in worship which centers on the Verse of the Day from the previous Sunday. 2—Book is an interactive study of the bible which teaches God’s truth and applies it to life. It is based on the Congregation at Prayer (Abiding Savior’s weekly devotional) found in the Sunday bulletin and on Abiding Savior’s website (found here). This is an excellent class for those who are just beginning their study of the Bible as well as those who are life-long learners. The Pastor's Class: For those interested in what the Bible teaches or in membership at Abiding Savior - Pastor Sauer offers a class of 16 lessons that delves into the basics of the Bible and the Christian faith. If interested, please contact Pastor Sauer and he can meet with you at a time which best fits your schedule. This class is open to any and all. There is no cost and no pressure to join the church.
